mailer.com.au is an Australian owned and based business however the email delivery system we offer is based in the USA and all credit card billings will be made in $US. Here are some frequently asked questions about the service and how we operate:

Why is the service USA based? Why don't you use Australian providers?
We would like to but unfortunately bandwidth (internet usage rates) in Australia at this point in time is much more expensive than comparable rates in the USA. We wanted to be able to provide you with a system at a price that would enable Australian businesses both large and small to compete on the world market. Also the system we are using is one of the most advanced of its type in the world and this would have been very costly to replicate for a comparatively small market like Australia.

Do I have to pay in $US? Can I pay in $Australian and be billed in Australia?
Yes. If you prefer to be billed locally in $Australian this can be arranged. Local billing is payable annually in advance as we do not have a monthly billing system. Local billing will also attract local GST but this should be claimable as a tax input credit if it is used for legitimate business purposes and your business is registered for GST. If you use the online monthly credit card payment system you are only committed to a month by month basis and you can drop out of the service or increase or decrease your plan as it suits.

If you would still prefer to be billed locally on an annual basis, that's fine too - just contact our Australian sales office.

Can I pay monthly by credit card in $Australian locally?
No. If you wish to pay monthly by credit card, you will need to use the facilities provided by the principal company in the USA and you will be billed in $US. We do not have monthly credit card billing facilities locally at this point in time.

If I choose to pay monthly in $US how much will it cost me in $Australian?
The exchange rate will vary from time to time so check the latest rates at the time of billing.

If I choose to pay in $US what happens if the exchange rate varies dramatically?
Your credit card will be charged at the $Australian equivalent at the exchange rate at the time the billing takes place. With mailer.com.au there are no long term contracts or commitments. You are only ever on a month by month basis so you can easily opt out at any time and only pay for the current month.

What about technical support?
An extensive technical support manual is available on the website - see support. In addition to this we provide email support for individual questions. NOTE: The free service offers limited support by email also. You will find most of the frequently asked technical support questions are answered on the website.
